First Trip to the Zoo

We went down to the Zoo with Grandpa and Auntie/Uncle and cousins.  It was one of the nicest days of the year so far, and we all had a good time at the Minnesota zoo.  I don’t know why we brought the stroller, because the only time she sat in it was for a nap.  This picture just cracks me up.  We went the the farm animals area, and this crazy goat just wouldn’t leave grandpa’s hat alone…both Annika and I thought it was hilarious

Almost 8 Months!!

never did this before, honey always helps..

Anyway, I can’t believe my little babe is almost 8 months, started to crawl last week, and we can army crawl all over the place now.  We are talking lots of high excited babble and smiling with mouth wide open!  We eat our toes and play with our ears with our feet!  We love to jumpy jump, explore and play with the remotes and cans…and anything else we can scoot too.   We are getting used to fruits veggies.  We went on 2 vacations in June, with the Gpa, Gma n Unky Husnik.  And Trout’s in July in the camper!  We had lot’s of fun, swimming, going for walks, our first fish, boat ride, deer..Mom started working in June, and Annika stayed with Grandparents and Unky Rob.  Annika now goes to Children’s Choice in New Brighton 3 days a week and G Husnik 2days.  Sunday we went to the Walker and had family pics taken at Sears, soo cute!!

Been way too long since we’ve done an update.  It’s really starting to hit me how much she’s grown.  Looking at any of the pictures from her first days, she now looks like a monster.  Now she’s starting to get a lot of personality.  She likes to smile back, and giggle, and grab at daddy’s face.  She also rolling all over the place.  We were just up on vacation with Beth’s parents, and she would just roll back and forth all across the room.  Most of all, she’s so curious with everything and just wants to be walked around to see everything…fun for her, tiring for dad.  We use a little “snuggie” thing so that works the best.  Here’s a picture of her when Beth took her for a walk a couple weeks ago.

Hiya!

Little Annika is just about 4 months…whewww!  It’s been tough, but is getting better (most days!)  She’s definitely got some ‘tude.  I say Cranky Crank Fussy Fuss Stinky Stink…luckily she’s Cutey Cute! 🙂  We are working on smiling, giggling, sitting up and rolling from back to front.  She’s an eater too!  She’s been through many ounces especially with Grandpa’s and Grandma!  D and I have been able to go on some fun dates and the Grandparents, Aunt and Uncle have been good babysitters and supposedly she’s been good.  They “love” walking her around and rocking her to sleep.  She’s been on trips to see all my girlfriends and gone for walks around the block and mall.  We got her 3 month pictures, just got to figure out where to put them all:)  I started cutting pictures for her scrap book  and I finally ordered her baby announcement/s I couldn’t get just one.  She’s a blessing and I love watching her smile to sleep, smile when she wakes up, cuddles with papa and mama:)

Mom

11 Weeks

It’s crazy that Annika is now going on 11 weeks.  She’s changed so much since we first brought her home.  She’s starting to get a schedule now, generally going to bed around 9:30/10:30 and sleaping for at least 4 hours, but usually 5 or more now…which is just fantastic 🙂  She’s so much more alert now when she’s awake, and smiling quite a bit.  Actually Beth was blown away this weekend.  We had gone out to find a stroller and her parents were watching her while we were gone.  As soon as she walked in the door and walked toward Annika, she just lit up…she had a lot of fun with grandma and granpa, but she sure was happy to see mom.

Here’s a couple recent pics!

Baby’s first…

Here’s Annika’s first smile…ok, she’s still young, it may be gas, but I’m going to call it her first smile.  She was getting changed and was a little upset but for some reason she thought it was really silly that her outfit was covering up her face.  Luckily I was quick with the camera to capture this pic 🙂  Also earlier in the week, she rolled over for the first time.  She actually has come close many times, as early as her first week at home, but it wasn’t until this week she was able to pull it off.  I think she’s gotten strong because she seems to use all her muscles when she decides to cry…hehehe, just kidding.

Annika @ Home

Annika got to see her new home this last Saturday.  Dad is going to be putting her crib together today after grandpa helps him move the queen size bed out of there(might not need that for a while).  She has been adjusting really good.  She’s been eating and sleeping great.  She’s getting a little too used to falling asleap in mom/dad’s arms so we’re going to try and get her used to falling asleap on her own the next few days.

Beth’s insurance covered an at home nurse visit so we had her stop by on Monday.  Annika was 6 lbs. 7 oz. at the visit.  The nurse gave her a great bill of health and gave us some good baby pointers.

Annika has also had a lot of her relatives stop by and play with her.  Here’s one of my favorite pictures with her cousin Ava.  Older cousin Tanner was also really great with her.  He thought it was awesome when he got a chance to hold her.  Uncle Rob stopped by with Precious(his dog) and she was really good with Annika too.

Today is the Day!

At 5:50 this morning Beth woke me up and said she thought her water broke.  It sure sounded like the real deal so she called the hostipal and they asked her a few questions and said she should come in within the hour.  We got to the hospital around 7:20 and the nurse put her on a monitor and the baby was doing great.  She checked to make sure that her water was broken, and it was verified that she was going into labor 🙂  It sounds like she’s moved down, and is progressing great.  Still quite early on, but it looks like her birthday could be 12/11/08!  More to follow.

Near 40 Weeks

Beth went in for her 39.75 week appointment and by all indications, we could have a baby at any moment.  Apprently I was wrong the entire time by saying the due date was Dec. 17th…it’s actually the 13th.  Beth is dialated to about 2 cm and the doctor “stripped the membranes”?  Not entirely sure what that means, but it supposedly could speed things up.

After much contemplation, we think we have agreed on a name and I have to say I LOVE it!  Who knows, once we see her things could change.  I was a little worried that we would have her and not decided on a name, so that’s a big releif we both love the name we have picked out.

More updates to follow.  Dad got a new camera, so I’m sure there will be zillions of pics once she’s born 🙂
